Equivalent judicial work required to occupy judicial grades at the Board of Grievances

First

  • The following activities are considered judicial acts:

  • 1- Investigation and prosecution.

  • 2- Membership in committees with judicial authority.

  • 3- Arbitration in various disputes in accordance with the Arbitration Law.

  • 4- Legal practice in accordance with the Law Practice Code.

  • 5- Sharia and legal consultations in government entities.

  • 6- Teaching laws at universities and the Institute of Public Administration.

Secondly

A master's degree in the specialization of jurisprudence or its principles, or in other systems not specified in Articles 35 and 43 of the Law of the Judiciary, is considered equivalent to four years of service in similar judicial work. A doctoral degree in this field is considered equivalent to six years of service in similar judicial work, provided that an equivalency for these degrees is conducted in accordance with the established rules in this regard, and passing a special examination prepared by the Administrative Judicial Council.

Thirdly

It is required for the calculation of similar judicial work that it is carried out in a principal and continuous manner in the Kingdom after obtaining the qualification stipulated in Article Thirty-One of the Law of the Judiciary.

Fourthly

The periods of probation, training, and periods of interruption from practicing similar judicial work—except for regular authorization—shall not be counted among the periods considered in this regard.

Fifth

The periods of employment in similar judicial works are to be combined with each other when their durations are separate, provided that the duration of each does not fall below a full continuous year.
