Implementing Regulation for the Rules of Forming Labor Committees

First: Work Committees

Article 1

In establishments that are subject to the rules for forming work committees, the workers of these establishments shall notify the Ministry of the formation of work committees, and the Ministry shall provide the necessary technical and legal assistance.

Article 2

The workers of the establishment shall elect the original members of the Committee, as well as an equal number of alternate members to fill any vacancies that may occur in the membership of the Committee during its statutory term, in accordance with the procedures specified by the internal regulations of the Committee.

Article 3

The selected members of the Committee represent all the workers of the establishment and safeguard their interests.

Article 4

In implementation of Article (2) of the regulations, the Minister shall approve the original and substitute members of the Committee who have been selected by the workers of the establishment.

Article 5

The Committee holds its first meeting to elect the President, determine the headquarters, and distribute positions among its other members, and notifies the Ministry accordingly.

Article 6

In implementation of Article (Six) of the regulations, the Committee shall prepare an internal organization for its work that includes everything assigned to it by these regulations, and it shall specify how to hold its meetings and make decisions regarding them. A copy of this shall be deposited with the Ministry.

Article 7

In implementation of Article (10) of the regulations, the committee may consult with the establishment regarding the contents of its meeting minutes, and the establishment has the right to express its opinion on them.

Article 8

In addition to what is stipulated in Articles (Seven and Eight) of the regulations, there shall be no interference in the affairs of the Committee or influence on its members, and the state guarantees the freedom of the committees to operate within the framework of the regulations and this regulation.

Article 9

After consulting with the most representative committees of workers, the Ministry nominates the representatives of the workers of the Kingdom to participate in Arab and international conferences, as well as in the councils and committees in which they hold membership.
