For the purposes of this Regulation, the words and phrases below shall have the meanings assigned to them:
Regulation: The Diplomatic Jobs Regulation.
Ministry: Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
General Diwan: The Diwan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its branches in the Kingdom.
Minister: The Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Mission: The embassy or permanent delegation to international or regional organizations, or the consulate general, or the offices affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Head of Mission: The person assigned to work in this capacity.
Member of the Mission: The Head of Mission and the official staff that make up the mission.
Member of the Corps: An employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs holding a diplomatic position.
Receiving State: The state in which the mission is located.
Corps Council: The Diplomatic Corps Council.
Hardship Posts: Countries where the security situation is dangerous due to wars or conflicts, or that suffer from significant shortages in living, health, educational, electricity, and water services, or similar issues.
Corps Positions: Diplomatic positions.
Technical Appurtenance: The entity where its employees work abroad, such as the cultural attaché, health attaché, and offices that follow the Saudi government and similar entities.
The provisions of this Regulation apply to (holders of diplomatic positions affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) included in the salary scale appurtenant to it.
Employees of the Ministry who are not members of the diplomatic corps shall be treated in terms of allowances and financial benefits when transferred to work abroad in the same manner as members of the diplomatic corps.
In the absence of a specific provision in this Regulation, the provisions of the Civil Service Law and its executive regulations, as well as related decisions and the Employee Disciplinary System, shall apply to the members of the corps.
The provisions of this Regulation do not apply to locally contracted employees appointed at the mission.
The missions consist of embassies, consulates, offices, and permanent delegations of the Kingdom abroad.
The mission is established and canceled with the approval of the Prime Minister based on the proposal of the Minister.
