First: These definitions are adopted in explaining the terms of this decision.
Work Environment for Women: This refers to the conditions surrounding and specific to female employees at the time and place of work. This decision will focus on the conditions surrounding and specific to women's work from the perspective of the Labor Law.
Establishment: Any project managed by a natural or legal person that employs one or more employees for any type of wage.
The establishment may be a shop, a standalone store, a factory, or otherwise, in accordance with the definition of an establishment.
Shop: Any place designated for conducting a licensed activity to sell or display one or more goods, or to provide or display one or more services, including but not limited to (entertainment activities, selling women's supplies, providing meals). The shop constitutes part of the enclosed market, the open market, and the standalone market.
Enclosed Market: This is a complex that contains several commercial shops and may include entertainment areas and restaurants, and is fully or partially covered, with specific entrances and exits that open and close at certain times. It is commonly referred to as a (mall) and is also called a (commercial complex).
Open Market: This is a center that contains several commercial shops, partially covered or uncovered, and does not have specific entrances and exits, and is also referred to as a (commercial center).
Standalone Shop: This is any place designated for conducting a licensed activity to sell or display one or more goods, or to provide or display one or more services. It is located outside enclosed or open markets and is found on main roads and streets, and does not fall under the definition of an enclosed market or an open market.
Kiosk: This is a small shop and is not considered part of the main fixed building.
Department: Any place in the establishment that specializes in the independent sale of a good or the provision of a specialized service or a specific activity (and the department may consist of more than one good or service or activity, provided that the combination is based on the similarity of the nature of the good or service or activity).
Sub-Department: This is what branches from the department, which means dividing the activity or service or sale of the good into two sections according to the gender of the provider of the activity or service or good. In the event that the term department is mentioned, it includes the sub-department unless otherwise stated in the wording of the decision.
Direct Works: These are the works (or work) in which the employee directly engages in a specific task using traditional manual methods or machines and tools, or both.
