Royal Order No. (A/296) for the year 1438 AH

  • By the grace of God Almighty

  • We, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

  • King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

  • After reviewing the Basic Law of Governance, issued by Royal Order No. (A/90) dated 27/8/1412 AH.

  • After reviewing the Council of Ministers Law, issued by Royal Order No. (A/13) dated 3/3/1414 AH.

  • After reviewing the laws, royal orders, royal decrees, decisions, and relevant instructions.

  • Considering the importance of developing Al-Ula Governorate in a manner commensurate with its historical value,

  • and what it includes of archaeological sites, in a way that achieves the desired economic and cultural interest, and the objectives upon which the Kingdom’s Vision (2030) is based, highlighting the human heritage with which God has endowed this country.

  • We order the following:

    • First: The establishment of a Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate.

    • Second: The Commission shall have a Board of Directors, and its chairman, members, and the Governor of the Commission shall be appointed by an order from the Prime Minister.

    • Third: The Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers, in coordination with the relevant authorities it deems appropriate, shall prepare what is necessary to complete the required legal procedures within a period not exceeding three months.

    • Fourth: This order shall be communicated to the competent authorities for approval and implementation.
