Chapter 1

The Presidency of Judges, in its current structure, consists of the Chief Judge, the First Assistant, the Second Assistant, and four members, as well as the Presidency of Judges' Office containing several departments.

Chapter 1: Chief Justice - His Jurisdiction

He is the President of the main department that has full supervision over the courts and notaries from the legal perspective, the public treasury, and the inspection departments of the Sharia courts, as well as their work, duties, authorities, and employees of all types. He is the primary responsible party and the sole reference for the aforementioned departments in all Sharia and administrative aspects according to the relevant regulations. He is the reference for all intelligence related to the mentioned departments and the intermediary in delivering all orders, instructions, and regulations issued by the competent authorities to the mentioned departments, directing them as required, organizing their budgets, the reference for auditing Sharia rulings and issuing fatwas, trying judges of the courts, and the one who has jurisdiction and investigation over all complaints raised against the mentioned departments and their employees. He is responsible for monitoring the employees of these departments.

The Board of Judges has the right to appoint the employees of the departments mentioned in the previous articles numbered (2, 3, 4), dismiss them, promote them, refer them to secondment, reward them, organize their budgets, and submit this to the prosecution authority for the issuance of approval orders.

All official teachers in mosques shall have their appointment, dismissal, transfers, leaves, and other matters under the jurisdiction of the Presidency of Judges within the limits of the Public Employees Law. It has the right to monitor the lessons they deliver to ensure that nothing contrary to the creed or inconsistent with the noble Sharia is taught. Non-official teachers must obtain permission to teach from it, and it is also responsible for monitoring their lessons to ensure that nothing contrary to the creed or inconsistent with the noble Sharia is taught. It must prevent them from teaching if circumstances warrant such action, taking into account the provisions of Article No. (5).

No department affiliated with the Presidency of Judges has the right to communicate directly with others in all its transactions except in matters where necessity requires communication with the existing administrative governor in the area of the mentioned department, and in inquiries about transactions related to Sharia matters from the departments located in the area of those departments, such as inquiries related to establishments of title, correspondences, and other matters stipulated by the statute of administrative work in the Sharia departments.
