1) The width of the road reserve in areas located outside cities and villages is set at sixty meters, which is thirty meters from the centerline of the asphalt road to the end of each side, including the shoulder of the road in lands not owned by anyone, and forty meters in lands owned by individuals, which is twenty meters from the centerline of the asphalt road to the end of each side, including the shoulder of the road.
As for one-way roads, the width of the road reserve is set at eighty-four meters in lands not owned by anyone, and sixty-four meters in owned lands. This area includes the asphalt road, shoulders, sides, and the median that usually separates the two directions.
2) The width of the road reserve in areas located within cities and villages is determined according to the approved plan by urban planning. If there is no approved plan that specifies the width of the road reserve, the matter shall be referred to urban planning to determine the mentioned width.

2) The determination of the road reserve in areas located outside cities and villages that are owned by individuals is limited to the extent necessary for the road, not to exceed thirty meters for the entire road on both sides in this case.
If necessary, to exceed the limits mentioned in (Second and Third), the order shall be raised to the Council of Ministers to decide what it deems appropriate.
The boundaries of any road shall not be determined as mentioned above except as required for its actual implementation in accordance with the drawings and plans that have been prepared for this purpose and based on the approval of the necessary amounts for that.
In all cases of claiming compensation for real estate expropriated for the benefit of the road, the owners must prove their ownership with legal documents that complete the legal and procedural requirements.
The decisions regarding the determination of road routes in areas located outside cities and villages are issued by the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services - Chairman of the General Panel for Roads, and in areas located within them by the Minister of Interior. In all cases, the decisions regarding the determination of road routes are published in the Umm al-Qura newspaper and other local newspapers.
As of the date of publication of the decision to define the road path in the newspapers, property owners are prohibited from erecting new buildings, making improvements or additions to existing buildings, drilling wells, or planting vegetation or trees on the lands within the road's right-of-way. The value of these new buildings, improvements, additions, wells, or plants and trees, if any, shall not be included in the assessment of compensation due for depreciation.
This decision does not apply to the roads that were established and implemented before its issuance. However, if it becomes necessary to apply it to any of these roads, the Ministry of Transport must obtain the prior approval of the Council of Ministers for that.
The system of Property Expropriated for Public Interest shall apply to all matters not specifically addressed in the preceding text.
