Regulations of Trade Names Registered Before the Enforcement of the Law of Trade Names

1. Regulations for the Practice of the Existing Trade Name Owner Related to Activity

  • A trader whose trade name is associated with an activity may engage in this activity and all activities registered in his commercial register before the Law of Trade Names comes into effect. He may register any other activity after the law comes into effect according to the following regulations:

    • A. There is no other identical trade name registered in the commercial register that is not associated with a specific activity.

    • B. There is no other identical trade name registered in the commercial register that is associated with the same activity.

    • C. The same activity is not registered in the commercial register under another identical trade name.

2. Regulations for Practicing an Existing Trade Name Unrelated to Activity

  • A trader whose trade name is not linked to an activity may engage in all activities registered in his commercial register before the Law of Trade Names comes into effect. He may register any other activity after the law comes into effect according to the following regulations:

    • A. There must be no other identical trade name registered in the commercial register linked to the same activity.

    • B. The same activity must not be registered in the commercial register for another identical trade name.

3. Register a new trade name

If the merchant wishes to register any other activity after the enforcement of the law and does not meet the regulations stated in clauses (1) or (2) of these regulations, he may register a new trade name in accordance with the provisions of the Law of Trade Names.
