Rules and Procedures for the Investigation and Trial of a Member of the Shura Council

Article 1

  • If a Member of the Shura Council breaches any of his duties, he shall be subject to one of the following penalties:

    • A- A written reprimand.
      Deduction of one month’s remuneration.
      Revocation of membership.

Article 2

The investigation with a member of the Shura Council shall be conducted by a committee of three members of the Council, chosen by the President of the Council.

Article: 3

The Committee informs the member of the violation attributed to him, and it is required to hear his statements and record his defense in the investigation report.
The Committee submits the results of the investigation to the General Authority of the Council.

Article 4

Previous Amendments

The General Authority may form a Committee of three of its Members, provided that neither the Chairman of the Council nor his Deputy or Assistant is among them, to adjudicate the Member accused of the Violation. The Committee may impose a reprimand or a deduction penalty.
If the Committee deems it necessary to revoke the membership, it shall raise the Order to the Chairman of the Shura Council to be submitted to the King.

Article 5

The imposition of any of the previous penalties shall not prevent the filing of a public or private lawsuit against the member.
