The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Civil Affairs is responsible for supervising the departments and offices of civil affairs, following up on the implementation of their duties, and directing them to carry out the duties and tasks in light of what is stipulated by the Civil Status System, its executive regulations, and the powers granted to him.
The basis is the container where all the documents related to the citizen’s civil status after obtaining the national ID card are archived. A serial archive number shall be assigned to the basis in each department or office.
The National Identity Documents Center in the offices is the designated place for storing the foundations, unless there is a central archive.
The Saudi authorized representatives abroad shall consider the provisions and the registration procedures of incidents mentioned in these Regulations before registering any incident and inform the Ministry of Interior (General Directorate of Civil Affairs) about the registered incidents within thirty days of the date of registration and attach copies of the incident supporting documents. The department or office of Civil Affairs shall register it in the Civil Registry based on the registration made in the Saudi authorized representative.
Not informing the Civil Affairs by the Saudi authorized representative shall not preclude the registration of the incidents that have taken place abroad in the registry if the concerned person applies in person after the completion of the incident’s procedures mentioned in the present Regulations.
All incidents related to the citizen shall be registered in a numbered civil registry and each incident shall be given an electronic number.
The civil registry number mentioned in Article 6 of these Regulations shall be noted when any service is provided to the citizens in all government and private sectors and it shall be accredited in all legal deeds, power of attorney, official letters, and all requests presented by the concerned person to any authority.
A- The basis is what is relied upon in the event of any discrepancy, unless there is an amendment or addition, in which case reference is made to the documents and records proving it.
B- Correction is made directly in all main and subsidiary data in the civil registry according to the basis.
