Media Policy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Article 1

The Saudi media is committed to Islam in all that it issues, upholding the creed of the predecessors of this nation and excluding from all its means anything that contradicts the Shariah of Allah that He has legislated for the people.

The Saudi media works to oppose destructive currents, atheistic trends, anti-philosophies, and attempts to divert Muslims from their faith. It exposes their falsehood and highlights their dangers to individuals and communities, while confronting hostile media challenges in accordance with the state's public policy.

The media strives to serve the community by instilling its valuable Islamic values, reinforcing its noble Arab traditions, preserving its inherited good customs, and resisting anything that may corrupt its purity and clarity. This also involves promoting development and cooperating with specialized institutions in this field.

Article 4

The media works to serve the Kingdom's policy aimed at safeguarding the supreme interests of citizens in particular, and Arabs and Muslims in general, by adopting this policy and presenting it objectively, supported by documents and backed by positions and facts.

Article 5

The media, both domestically and internationally, is keen to highlight the unique and distinguished character of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, revealing the blessings of stability and security that God has bestowed upon it, as well as the progress it has achieved in various fields by adopting Islam as its constitution for governance and a guiding principle in life. It also emphasizes the services it provides to the sanctities of Muslims and the significant responsibilities it undertakes in this regard.

The media document the bonds of love and solidarity among the Saudi people by introducing citizens to the precious parts of their homeland, highlighting the bright aspects of each, and demonstrating their integration and cooperation in forming this nation.

Article 7

The media deepens the sentiment of loyalty to the Saudi homeland, both as land and entity, in the hearts of citizens, enlightening them about the blessings that God has bestowed upon them in terms of energies and capabilities. It informs them of its achievements in the past and present, encouraging them to generously contribute and actively participate in its progress, development, and preservation, while also working to raise citizens' awareness of their fundamental duty in this regard.

The Saudi media gives the family the attention it deserves and views it as the fundamental unit in building society and the first school where children receive their knowledge and guidance. Within its embrace, their personalities are formed, and their behavior is regulated. It continuously provides everything that can assist the family in fulfilling its mission and maintaining its cohesion.

Article 9

The Saudi media emphasizes that a child is a pure and innocent nature, and a fertile ground, and that the images of tomorrow's society are hinted at through today's child. Therefore, it is essential to give children's guidance, educational, and entertainment programs the effort and attention they deserve, and to establish these programs on well-studied scientific educational foundations, entrusting them to specialists with precise expertise in this field.
