Regulation for Depositing Original Documents

Article (1)

A special register shall be allocated for each type of documents deposited at the center, in accordance with the provisions of Article (2) of the General Document Policy.

Article 2

A deposit record model is designed to include important information about the deposited document, and this information is recorded using the latest information preservation technologies.

Article 3

Each record is assigned a unique code that distinguishes the documents registered within it and specifies their storage locations.

Article 4

Documents with a special serial number, such as royal decrees, royal orders, decisions of the Council of Ministers, and decisions of the Shura Council, are registered according to the sequence of their issuance numbers. A blank space is left for the document number that has not been received, and the relevant administration is responsible for monitoring the arrival of these documents and recording notes about the documents that have not been submitted.

Article 5

The deposit number for this type of document consists of the deposit record code, the document number, and the year in which it was issued.

Article 6

The other documents that must be deposited in accordance with Article (2) of the General Document Policy are registered based on the date they are received by the center, and the older documents of each type are arranged according to their issuance date when recorded in the deposit register.

Article 7

The deposit number for this type of document consists of the registration code of its deposit and the sequential registration number in this register.

Article 8

The documents issued prior to the adoption of this Regulation shall have their originals deposited with the center
within one year from the issuance of this Regulation.

Article 9

The documents deposited under the deposit number are arranged and preserved.

Article 10

The competent administrative unit for deposits issues an annual statistic on the number of documents deposited with it, their types, and their sources.
